OOH LA LA--

A Canon Digital Rebel 400 XTi
Single Lens Reflex Camera

My digital photography hobby began in early 2003 with a Canon Power Shot G-3; an outstanding entry-level camera for this marvelous technology. As time went on, however, its limitations became more problematic.

The Rebel overcomes virtually all those shortcomings and it boasts a huge 10 megapixel capability. I equipped it with an 18-200 mm zoom lens. That is the 35 mm camera equivalent of a 28 to 320 mm optic—an outstanding spread of focal lengths.

By the way, the little G-3 did the honors of making this image of its new big brother.

I hope to share my growth in this technology with even more images on the blog—as soon as I struggle a reasonable distance up the new camera's learning curve.

I assume your new camera is in hand! Awesome. I will be down soon to fingerprint it up. I have a Nikon FM2. 100% manual. Does it have trade in value or better yet. Sale value to say Otto Schmidt.

Any thoughts.

Terry:

Nice camera.

I have a Powershot A520 which I got about a year ago. It is adequate for the few pictures I make nowadays.

Question: Does a digital SLR have a penta-prism? It seems to me that all digital cameras are essentially SLRs due to the electronic display.

I am requesting a portrait of Max taken with your new camera. It would also be nice to see some of the critters you describe in "Critter Notes."

It will be worth your money to obtain several multi-gigabyte memory chips.

Enjoy the hobby.
