THIS WEEK—

I watched a squadron of blue jays frolicking high in the Scotch pine woods.

Maybe they were warming themselves flitting among the treetops. After all, it is closer to the sun up there. (Do you see my tongue in my cheek?)

More likely, it could have been some early evidence of their spring’s hormonal re-awakening.

Here in the near western Chicago suburbs... is my bird report...No sign of birds in last three days at my 2 feeders...????????... Usually see sparrows, junco's, cardinal's .... Have seen a pigeon, seagull, and red-headed woodpecker...tho first 2 were on ground... Seagull I think wandered in from nearby grocery store parking lot AFTER wandering in from Lake Michigan
